Analogue
Terminal Adapters (ATA) & Gateways
VoIP Analogue Terminal Adapters (ATA) are hardware devices that
act as Gateways between analogue devices (regular headphones, cordless
phones, or fax machines) and any Internet link, allowing them to
place and receive FREE or low cost calls over the Internet.
ATA is the most suitable solution for residential users that have
limited experience on using Desktop PCs or they don't have any at
all.
ATA could be used also by small enterprises that would like to
implement a low budget solution for using their existing LAN infrastructure
and Internet access to integrate Voice and Data services
Media gateways, also commonly referred to as VoIP gateways are
devices which bridge conventional telephone networks and equipment
to VoIP telephone networks. A typical media gateway has at least
one conventional telephone port and at least one ethernet port.
Professional Gateways offer multiple (4 to 24) FXS and/or FXO ports,
providing high quality VoIP services combined with PSTN fall-back
or termination solutions, for medium and large size enterprises.
